Matha Ann Odom, 80, of Poteau,
OK passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 in Ft.
Smith, AR. Matha was born July 28, 1934 in Latham, OK
to John G. & Lois (Sulivant) Bowden.
She was retired secretary for the County Superintendent
of Schools. Matha was a faithful member
of Southside Baptist Church. She loved to play card games (Hand &
Foot). Matha was a wonderful mother,
grand & great grandmother who loved spending time with her kids and
grandkids. She was always there when you
needed her.
Survivors include her
daughter & son in law, Debbie & Mike Dunigan of Poteau, OK; son &
daughter in law, Bill & Sheryl Maggard of Wister, OK; grandchildren, Shelly
& Steve Akins of Poteau, OK, Joe Bill & Jenni Maggard of Howe, OK, Sky
& Stephen Fruen of Poteau, OK, Star & Justin Mudge of Bald Knob, AR,
Brad & Cecilia Maggard of Wister, OK; 7 great grandchildren, Jace &
Piper Akins, Sydney & Syler Fruen, Lane
& Willow Maggard, Jaxon Mudge; 2 baby girls on the way; brother,
Buddy & Pat Bowden of Farmington, NM; 3 nieces, JoAnn Hill of Ft. Smith,
AR, Teresa Horn of Farmington, NM, Charlie Romero of Las Cruces, NM; nephew,
David Bowden of Ft. Gibson, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 am,
Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Southside
Baptist Church,
Poteau, OK
with Revs. Monte Thompson and Jim Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery,
Poteau, OK. Pallbearers will be Joe Bill & Brad
Maggard, Steve & Jace Akins, Stephen Fruen & Justin Mudge. Honorary pallbearers will be Syler Fruen
& Lane Maggard.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
